How do You Read Art Deco Card?
General Meaning of the Party Card.
The card is portraying an open, cheerful, happy togetherness. At the centre of the image the woman beating the drum, dominating the others, enjoying the attention she receives. She is taking the role as a leader and the other playing their part as followers. She has a need to be admired, to be followed, respected, that is, to be superior, whilst the participant happily obligates themselves.
The woman at first glance willingly conforming to the wishes of the leader, obeying, serving and emulating her, she has no direction of her own, whilst the leader needs to be admired, to dominate, connecting this card to Narcissus, however here the image reveals the relationship between Narcissus and Echo. We already know that pride is fuelled by narcissism, however, without Echo Narcissus wouldn't exist. The card also a continuation of the card of Rival, it is rivalry or rather a domination.
It is Pride, Arrogance, Narcissus who is holding the world in her hands, the country, port, trade, is at her feet confirming her superiority, domination. Meanwhile, the rest of us become a mere echo, a hollow instrument, for one simple reason, so Narcissus can enjoy attention, praise and envy. She is fully convinced it is her god- given right, she was chosen to lead the world. The woman beating the drum obviously believes there is none worthy of her. Her way to make sure she is followed is to give you an ultimatum, - you're either with me or against me -, and accordingly they might develop a bond with one another, which will turn into an unpleasant event after the party is over.
Meaning: The message of the card is not to follow blindly, but see for yourself the truth and not what others want you to believe. To see through appearances brings clear mind, clarity, and peace. That is the path you should follow if you don't want to fall into the trap becoming the echo of Narcissus, false prophets.
Reverse: Conversation can help shed light on how to get through a problem. It will help you find new ideas to help you move forward, a conversation can make all the difference, it can transform you, allowing you to begin a journey within, to discover the extraordinary healing capacity you never knew you had.
